Accessibility
We build chattasitan.com against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This page sets out what has been done, what has not, and how to tell us when something on the site blocks you.
What has been done
Where the site stands today
The standard we build against is WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Specifically, on this site right now:
- Keyboard navigation. Every link, button, form field, accordion and menu can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. Nothing important is a mouse-only control.
- Visible focus. Focus indicators are drawn with a high-contrast outline and are never removed by our stylesheet.
- Reduced motion. The site honours the operating system reduced-motion preference. With it on, reveal and scroll animations are switched off rather than merely shortened.
- Colour contrast. Body and interface text are checked against a 4.5:1 minimum, and large headings against 3:1.
- Alt text. Product and content images carry descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them instead of reading filenames.
- Structure. Pages use a single h1 and a nested heading order, landmark regions, and visible form labels rather than placeholder text standing in for a label.
- Zoom and reflow. Layouts hold together at 200% browser zoom without content being cut off, overlapped or trapped.
Known gaps
What is not fixed yet
Stating these plainly is more useful than claiming full conformance.
- Third-party content. The review widget and any embedded video player come from outside services. We do not control their markup, and their keyboard and screen-reader behaviour is not fully verified.
- PDFs. Downloadable documents are not yet tagged for screen readers. If you need one in an accessible format, ask and we will send plain text or HTML the same week.
- Older images. A small number of images published early on have alt text thinner than it should be. We rewrite them as we find them.
- Testing coverage. Testing is manual — keyboard, browser zoom and a screen reader — plus automated checks. It is not an independent third-party audit, and we have not commissioned one yet.
This list is updated when the site changes materially. Items are marked done rather than quietly deleted.
